This application is for the Organeyez Spring internship program from February 1st to April 3rd. The internship is 13 weeks with 1 week off for spring break (or vacation if you are not a college student). You do not have to be currently enrolled in college to apply for this internship, but we do expect you to be between 17 and 23 years old, and have minimal work experience.
We will be conducting interviews throughout the months of November and December and we will announce our decisions shortly before New Years.
Organeyez is a co-op passion project run by folks who have full time careers in technology, education, non-profits, and more. This means that hours of communication will often be outside of regular work hours such as on weekends and evenings.
We are a fully distributed team with people all over the United States. All meetings are hosted via google hangouts and we communicate through team messaging platforms. Interns will be able to have a flexible schedule and work remotely from wherever they choose.
We are a corporation with a non-profit mission. From our research, we seem to be the first of our kind. We have a unique co-op structure that calls for collective decision making and sweat-equity compensation. All interns will have an inside look at the early stages of an activism focused startup that is experimenting with a shared compensation model. Although we do not offer compensation to anyone in our organization yet, we believe that activists deserve to be paid for their work even if its just a few hours a week. So, we plan to begin fundraising in January 2019 and plan to start our compensation program in the summer of 2019.
Our goal with our interns is to help refine and strengthen the skills you already have while also teaching you new skills in technology, media, communication, and organizational development. You will play a HUGE role in the development and growth of our small company and should feel just as much ownership as the rest of us! We aim to give you the skills and knowledge to be able to engage in effective activism work in your future. We also hope that some of our interns will one day choose to become a long-term member of our organization.
After you complete this application we will send you our DNA document which outlines our mission, goals, internal organizational structure, and tentative compensation model! We ask that you read through it carefully and make sure that you align with everything before moving forward in the interview process.
Internship offers will be given out by December 15th 2018.
