**NB** Fully funded places on the Climate Ambassador Programme 2022 are now fully booked. Please go ahead and register your interest if you would like to keep up to date with future opportunities***
Welcome!
Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a trained Climate Outreach Climate Ambassador as part of our Climate Ambassador Programme 2022. At the moment, we're only working with UK-based researchers and experts but we hope to expand this programme internationally in the near future.
Last year, we trained 60 UK-based researchers in public engagement, across a range of climate-related disciplines who then participated in 56 public-facing events in 2021. Read more about the project here:
https://climateoutreach.org/scientist-ambassadorship/This year, we plan to do the same. Places for the training sessions are limited, however, by registering your interest, we will also keep you up to date on places and cancellations and share our wider training resources with you.
The Climate Ambassador Programme offers a combination of practical public engagement training, tailored follow up support and opportunities for peer-to-peer practice - all with a view to supporting you to take part in a public-facing event in 2022.
Please fill in this quick survey (it should take you 5-15 mins, depending on how much detail you can provide). The purpose is to help me get to know you better, to get an idea of any engagement you already do, hopes and expectations for the training and what kind of public engagement activities you would like to do.
It's clearly still a tough and unpredictable time for a lot of people. Rest assured, our training and support can be tailored to your capacity with no additional pressure. We do, however, ask you to commit to at least one public engagement event in 2022 to practice your new skills in front of a live audience. This could be as small-scale or large-scale as you wish.
Many thanks,
Tara Bryer (Science Communications Advisor, Climate Outreach)
