Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,

The Clipper’s Compass is our student-parent handbook, which outlines the rules and policies of Newburyport High School. Our mission drives us to foster a sustained passion for learning that each student will carry throughout life. As with prior years, we are committed to working together with students, staﬀ, parents/guardians, and the community to provide a positive and inspiring educational experience that guides students to develop and showcase skills aligned to the NPS Portrait of a Graduate.

During the school year we will focus on growing together and continuing to strengthen our school culture and climate. Our commitment to engage in school-wide dialogues around school and community issues will continue as we view this as an imperative part of having a culture grounded in learning and understanding.

Please make every eﬀort to review the entire Clipper’s Compass especially Chapters 4 and 5 dealing with attendance policies and school rules. Please pay particular attention to changes to our Cell Phone Policy (5.5) and Attendance/Credit Loss Policies (4.7).
