Sanction fee includes steak and 1 ancillary category. Any additional ancillary events are an additional $25 fee paid to the SCARep day of the event. This money will belong to the Rep.

How much room is available for teams to set up at your location, please choose one of the options below. Space could dictate the number of teams allowed to register.

Steaks for the event
You are responsible for providing the steaks for the event. The steaks are important to the success of the event. The SCA standard is a minimum of 3cm thick boneless Choice ribeye. Each team will be provided with two ribeye steaks for competition plus a safety margin of ten extra steaks. The extra steaks provide a selection for the last person to choose from. They can be used for teams that register the day of the event. Your SCA Rep will advise you on the number of steaks to order for your event.

The SCA manages the certified judge registration process for every event, SCA Certified Judges get FIRST PRIORITY on judging steak. Most events require 15-20 judges to judge the event. If an event is in an areas without certified judges, the SCA could conduct a SCA Certified Judges Class.

Release of Liability
This event is sanctioned by the Steak Cookoff Association LLC (SCA). In consideration of the acceptance of the right to participate; entrants, participants, and spectators release and discharge the Steak Cookoff Association LLC. all its directors, officers, employees, sponsors, agents, representatives from any known and unknown damages, injuries, losses, judgments, and/or claims from any cause whatsoever that may be suffered by any entrant, participant, or spectator to their person or property. Further, each entrant expressly agrees to indemnify all the foregoing entities, firms, persons and bodies of any form from all liability occasioned from the conduct of any entrant, participant or spectator. I agree to follow the directions of the event organizers and that any misconduct or refusal by me to follow any direction of the organizer can result in the disqualification and cancellation of my participation in the activities and my immediate removal from the grounds where these activities are occurring. I understand that any such non-compliance may result in injury, death and/or permanent disability as a result of my failure to comply. Any and all media taken by the SCA related to any participant, spectator, etc. becomes the property of the Steak Cookoff Association LLC and can be used in future promotion of SCA events.

Promoters Responsibilities
PROMOTER RESPONSIBILITIES

1. I agree to provide a location for awards ceremony and a sound system or PA if possible.
2. I agree to provide private, we lighted area for judging with electricity.
3. Tables and chairs usually 4 – 8 foot tables and 12 chairs.
4. NO RED TENTS (It is impossible to judge doneness in a red tent)
5. Provide 3-4 volunteers to assist in judging area (Important)
6. Arrange for the steaks to be onsite for the cooks meeting.
7. Use the SCA logos on advertising materials for the event.
8. Provide a metal trash can to dispose of hot coals.
9. Provide adequate restroom facilities and trash receptacles.
10. Obtain any required local event permits.
11. Provide trophies or certificated for the event.
12. Provide the following Supplies for Judging Tent:
3 Case of Bottled Water
2 Bag of Oyster Crackers
300 Heavy Duty Plastic Forks (Sam’s Club) (Each judge will use a clean fork for each bite)
100 Heavy Duty Plastic Knives (Sam’s Club)
3 Rolls Paper Towels
2 Plastic table cloth (Dollar Store)
100 9” Styrofoam Boxes undivided (Sam’s Club)
Promoter Financial Responsibility to SCA Rep
1. The promoter must have either cash or checks prepared for the awards ceremony.
2. Pay the SCA Rep’s expenses (mileage & hotel if necessary) The SCA Rep fee for single events is 300 AUD, 450 AUD for same day double steak events and 600 AUD for a same day triple event. The SCA Rep fee is per day, if a contest is spread over 2 days an additional Rep fee is required.
*Mileage is figured at current government mandated rate.
*We will try to use the SCA Rep that is closest to you event.
*Payment must be made to Rep on the day of the event.
* One Rep required for 1-49 Teams, 2 Reps for 50-99 teams, 3 Reps for 100 Plus Teams
3. In the event of cancellation the contest organizer will reimburse the SCA Representative(s) any prepaid travel
expenses incurred by them which cannot be recouped.
Payment of Sanctioning Fee ($300 USD), Same Day Double ($500 USD), Same Day Triple ($750 USD)
Once approved we will send you an invoice for the $300 USD sanctioning fee. Upon receiving your payment, we create a flier for your event, your event will be posted to our website and we will start promoting your event to our judges and cook teams. SCA Sanctioning Fees are nonrefundable, in the event of cancellation by the contest organizer, all previously paid expenses shall be non-refundable. The contest organizer will also reimburse the SCA Representative(s) any prepaid expenses incurred by them which cannot be recouped. SCA Rep fee for a single event is $300AUD, a Same day double event is $450AUD. The SCA Rep fee is per day, if a contest is spread over 2 days an additional Rep fee is required.
