Pet Survey

Purpose: This survey is part of a larger study examining pet behavior and the human-­pet relationship. This research is being done as part of a PhD dissertation. The purpose of this survey is to assess how pet owners perceive the bond they have with their pet.

Activities: Are you willing to participate in this survey that will provide me with information for a research project? In the survey you will be asked to mark whether or not you agree with statements about attachment to your pet and your pet’s behavior. The survey is 80 questions long.

Time: Participation in this study will take approximately 20­-30 minutes.

Voluntariness: Participation is voluntary. Consent to participate in this survey must be given freely. There is no penalty for choosing not to participate or for leaving this survey at any time. Your permission to use the information gathered from this survey is being requested. Identifying information will not be kept with the responses for this survey and individual responses will be kept confidential. However, the security and confidentiality of information collected from participants online cannot be guaranteed. Confidentiality will be kept to the extent permitted by the technology being used. Information collected online can be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, arrive late or incomplete, or contain viruses. No identifying information will be published.
