Workshop #1: Honoring Your Wishes through Advanced Health Care Directives

Saturday, March 4 |  10 AM - 12 PM | Parish Hall

This workshop will enable you to start the conversation about communicating your end-of-life care preferences to health care providers and loved ones through advanced medical directives and proxies. A panel of guest professional experts will explore the need for and resources available to make clear, legally binding medical care decisions about end-of-life from legal, medical, social work, and bioethical perspectives.

Guest Panelists:

  • Megan Stucke, MSW, CAS, LCSW, Care Coordination Ambulatory Team Lead at VCU Health
  • Stephen D. Rosenthal, Esq., SDR Law, PLC and former Attorney General of Virginia

  • Ken Faulkner, MA, MDiv, retired Advance Care Planning Coordinator for the VCU Health System and Assistant Professor in the VCU College of Health Professions

  • Ritsu Kuno, MD, Physician, Pulmonary Associates of Richmond and President of the Honoring Choices Virginia Board of Directors

This is part of the Holy Living, Holy Dying Series: Dying is a privileged occasion to explore the meaning and value of life and to deepen our relationship with God. As Christians, we are called to consider our mortality faithfully and responsibly, giving our loved ones the gift of making known our choices for end-of-life care and death. Join us during Lent for these important conversations.

You can register for Workshop #2: Dust to Dust: Deciding the Fate of Our Earthly Remains (March 11) HERE.
