Participation in this Group - This group was created as a safe and supportive environment where breastfeeding/chestfeeding parents in our foothills and surrounding mountain community can connect, share successes and find support when feeding challenges arise!

There is also a Facebook group where you can find continued support in between group meetings and continue to connect with other breastfeeding/chestfeeding parents in our community. Participation in the Facebook group is voluntary.

Treat Others Respectfully - Please be respectful towards each other and use acceptable behavior during our group meetings (no inappropriate language, name-calling, judgments and other variety of personal attacks). If I see this happening or have been the recipient of such behavior, I will let Anne/Kayla know.

Sales, Donations and Promotions - Please do not use these meetings as a venue to promote your business or sell to any attending parents. If you have a closed-system pump you would like to donate to a mother in need, are interested in peer-to-peer milk sharing, have an item you wish to donate, or there is a community event you wish to share with the group, please speak with one of us (Anne/Kayla) first.

I understand that this support group is meant to provide me with information, education and community. Participation in this group does not create a clinical relationship between me and Anne Paterson and/or Kayla Thorngate.

I understand that I am responsible to consult with my primary care provider and/or my baby’s primary care provider before taking action on anything that happens during meetings.

I recognize that neither Anne Paterson nor Kayla Thorngate is a doctor and cannot provide medical advice or supervision. Although Anne/Kayla are health professionals, advice given here should always be accepted as peer support. Anne/Kayla cannot diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any health or breastfeeding/chestfeeding-related issues. When complicated issues arise, Anne/Kayla may recommend you schedule a private consultation with one of them (Anne/Kayla), or other appropriate qualified professional for individualized support and care in each situation.

I recognize that if I have an established clinical relationship with Anne Paterson and/or Kayla Thorngate as my lactation consultant, it is up to me what I wish to share in the group setting about our prior clinical relationship. If I do reveal a clinical relationship, I understand that Anne Paterson and/or Kayla Thorngate will not make reference to our private clinical conversations in the group context, and will not provide me with specific or personal clinical recommendations or a plan of care.

I give permission to Anne Paterson and/or Kayla Thorngate to examine me, my breasts, and my baby visually and manually. I may withdraw this consent at any time.
