Calling all film makers of all ages and skill levels! Want to be considered for the SLC Pasifika Film Fest 48 HOUR CHALLENGE?
Pasifika Film Fest is looking for 10 aspiring Pacific filmmakers to participate in our 48 Hour Film challenge as part of PFF 2019 in Salt Lake City. The 48 Hour Film Challenge is brought to you in conjunction with Pasifika Film Fest and Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and includes a one day work shop presented by established filmmakers of Pacific Heritage who will also mentor the teams through out the challenge process.
Selected filmmakers will come together to brainstorm scripts that centre around a theme that will have been sent to them 24 hours before.
Participants will be required to pitch their ideas to experienced filmmakers. Once script and concept is completed, groups will be given the opportunity to go off and create their project from pre to post-production, using equipment and editing suites made available by Smithsonian APA and Pasifika Film Festival. Filmmakers will be given 48 hours to do this. Completed films will be screened as part of PFF 2019 in Salt Lake City.
How to apply?
To participate in the challenge, please send through an expression of interest by answering the following questions:
Have you made a film before and what was it about?What is your Pacific heritage?What is your experience on a film set?Why does this filmmaking challenge interest you?
To participate in the challenge, you should be a Pacific filmmaker based inUtah. The challenge itself will take place in Salt Lake City. If you are located outside of Salt Lake County, you can still submit however you will be responsible for your own travel and accommodations.
