PBH's Free Fringe 2026: in-person show application
Applications for Free Fringe 2026.  This is for LIVE IN-PERSON shows only.  There is a separate procedure for VIRTUAL shows; do not use this form unless you intend to perform LIVE in Edinburgh in August.

Don't forget to put freefringeprog@gmail.com and freefringetestbed@gmail.com and schedules@freefringe.org.uk on your email whitelist, so our replies can't go into your spambox.

Please make sure you have read the Ethos and Conditions before applying.

After applying, you should get an email with your show number.  If you do not get this within 24 hours, email freefringeprog@gmail.com.

Your Email *
Easy first question.  But students: avoid using your university email address if you can: sometimes they get deleted in June and then we can't reach you.  Enter ONE email only.
Provisional Show Title *
If you don't have a title yet, put a brief description like "Sketch Show".  You can give us an updated title via our Title and Blurb Form, later on, as many times as you need to.
Name (primary contact for show) *
The name of a person, not a group or company
Secondary (backup) Email Address

This includes Not Being A Dick.

What is/ are the secondary genre(s) of your show? *
You can choose as many as appropriate, but we prefer one or two.  Choosing them all is Being A Dick.

For COMEDY shows, do any of these apply?
For SPOKEN WORD shows, do any of the following apply?
For THEATRE shows, do any of the following apply?
How long is each performance, in MINUTES?   *
(If over 60 minutes, this may be difficult to schedule; talk to the team on freefringeprog@gmail.com before applying.  It's not impossible, but it depends.)
Describe your show *
Tell us why it will be good.  Include press and references, if relevant, especially if we don't know you. Write as one professional to another: we don't want a sales pitch.  Video links go in the next question.
Give links to footage
This is especially important if we don't know you.  If there's something you particularly want us to see as we consider your application, put the links to it here.
Age range for which the show is suitable *
Note: many of our venues are restricted to over-18s by their licence.  Don't let that stop you applying, but bear it in mind.
What other skills can you offer the Free Fringe?
Did you have a show at PBH's Free Fringe in 2025?
Clear selection
If "Yes" above, what was your main venue and time?
Also quote your 2025 show number if you remember it.
IF you want to return to the same venue and slot, SAY SO HERE.  No promises.  Your chances are better if you apply before New Year. If you do not want to return, please tell us why not.
How long a run are you looking for? *
What time of day do you prefer? *
What times of day can you absolutely NOT do?
For example, because you're committed to another show?  Any other difficulties with days and/or times?
Maximum how many performers will be on stage at the same time in your show?
Do you have any accessibility requirements?
To which other Fringe organisations (if any) will you apply for Edinburgh Fringe 2026?   *
(Please ensure you have read the Ethos and Conditions before answering.  Certain answers will render your application invalid.  Untruthful answers may lead to the cancellation of your show.  "n/a" is *not* a valid answer.
Which is the closest large city to you?
There might be meetings.  There might be contact groups of Free Fringers in your vicinity.  And if you live near Edinburgh, there might be things you can help with before the Fringe.
Clear selection
How far away do you live from the city you chose above, in miles?
You need not be exact.  Put 0 if you live in your chosen city.  We just need an idea of the distance.  8km = 5 miles.  Shows outside UK/Ireland need not answer.
Anything else you would like to add to your application?
I understand that my run/show could be cancelled at any time, if I do not follows the Ethos and Conditions (https://freefringe.org.uk/ethos-and-conditions-of-the-free-fringe/) *
I consent to my data being used by the PBH Free Fringe 2026 volunteers *
for the purposes of processing my application, e-mailing applicants, programming the timetable, and for monitoring purposes.  Also, only if we make an offer and you accept, being part of the contact list at the Fringe so other Free Fringe shows can contact you, and you them.
I have put freefringeprog@gmail.com and
freefringetestbed@gmail.com and schedules@freefringe.org.uk on my email whitelist.
