About the Role:

As a member of ANSMA’s Rural Advisory Committee, you'll play an important role in helping us better understand the needs, challenges, and strengths of rural African Nova Scotian communities. Your insight will guide how we expand our music programming and productions across the province.


Commitment Level: Low
We know your time is valuable! This is a low-commitment volunteer role designed to be flexible and community centered.

🕒 What to Expect:

  • Quarterly check-ins (virtual or phone) with the ANSMA team – about 1 hour per session

  • Occasional email or message check-ins in between, if needed

  • Optional opportunities to help spread the word about programs or share feedback from your community

Who We’re Looking For:

  • African Nova Scotians living in rural communities across the province

  • People who care about culture, music, youth, and community well-being

  • No experience needed — just a willingness to share your voice and represent your area!
