As a chorale member of New
Century Chorale, I am fully committed and dedicated to the organization’s
mission and pledge to help achieve it. I
understand that my duties and responsibilities include the following:
1. I will come to
rehearsals with clarity of mind, prepared with my music, a pencil, and a
professional attitude. I will rehearse
and perform per the instruction of the Director – including warm-up exercises,
posture, according to seating assignments, etc.
2. Per Season: I will attend
rehearsals regularly. I will contact my
Section Leader when I must miss a rehearsal.
After two absences without notice the Section Leader will contact me to
ensure my well-being and to discuss my ability to commit to future
rehearsals/performances. After three
absences without notice the Director will contact me regarding my commitment to
the Chorale.
3. Per Concert: I
will attend 75% of the rehearsals (excluding dress rehearsal) to perform at the
next concert. At the time of music distribution,
the Board will provide me with the rehearsal dates and number of rehearsals
required for me to sing in that concert.
The Board will review my attendance at each Board Meeting. And: I
will request, and understand I must receive, written approval from the Director
if I plan to miss dress rehearsal and want to sing in the concert.
4. I will purchase
and maintain my concert attire, including accessories and shoes, per the
guidelines given – ensuring I will be properly dressed for all performances.
5. I will pay my
dues in a timely manner or notify the Board President to discuss options.
6. I will actively
promote New Century chorale in the community, encouraging people to attend our
performances and support our efforts financially.
7. I will support
the Board and the organization by offering ideas and my time, when possible.
8. I accept the
by-laws and will be mindful that my actions and attitude contribute to the
overall success and growth of New Century Chorale.
9. I will hold
myself and all Chorale members accountable, as we work together to uphold the
highest level of performance, character, and personal responsibility, to the
best of my ability.
