Beyond Sport Mentoring and Employment Program
Funded by multiple funding streams, including grants by the Australian Government ILC Department of Social Services, and delivered by Paralympics Australia.

Please put in an EOI if you are interested in being a mentor, a mentee, part of co-design projects, Athlete Employment Programs, Program support (consultant, strategy development, facilitation, corporate training) and/or kept in the loop about other opportunities (for example, if the ASC/AIS, Brisbane 2032 or PA partners approach us about athlete talent, career pathways, paid and volunteer opportunities, committees and board positions, etc.).

We currently have a lot of opportunities for paid employment - through our programs and with external employers - so please fill in this form and/or reach out to us so we can get those opportunities in front of you!

The scope and focus of the Beyond Sport Mentoring and Employment Program changes year-to-year based on co-designed feedback from you all and with the nature of grants or other funding that may be supporting us.
Program participants for the mentoring program will be selected based on the best fit for your needs, mentoring pairs, and the program focus each year. You may also be contacted now or at a later point if we have an opportunity that we think would suit you (including paid opportunities).
The Beyond Sport Mentoring Program is designed and delivered by Paralympians for Para-athletes. Para-athletes will be matched with Paralympic Alumni for a mentoring experience designed to up-skill and fast-track people with disabilities into sport, education, employment, and ensures a more productive and included life. This program also supports current high-level athletes as they transition through different stages of their career (including leadership roles, changing sports, finding the right education/employment/career path, retirement, etc.). Using a series of 7-9 curriculum modules, the Paralympian Mentoring Program allows athletes to reframe goals and challenges and offers constructive support to ‘grow wings’ within a supported and effective program.

For our full mentoring program, Mentor induction and match-ups begin as each iteration is approved and funded. Mentors and Mentees will meet twice a month - approx. 30-45 mins each session via phone or zoom - over the course of 8-12 months.
