You must be available to attend all sessions during the program dates, including the weekends.
This form is to apply for the Destination Western Program at Western Oregon University. Destination Western is a two week residential program designed to help students get the skills needed to succeed in college level writing and math. Participants will take two non-credit courses throughout the two week program in small groups, as well as participate in academic activities and social events.

Requirements:
Attend all academic courses during the program dates AND
Go to at least one section of professor Office Hours
Attend at least one study group with a writing tutor and one with a math tutor per week
Attend at least one social event each evening
Participate in one large Weekend Excursion or on campus activities over the weekend of 9/10 & 9/11
Attendance is required to receive the wage replacement benefit. Students will be allowed only one unexcused absence.
If students anticipate absences for personal or medical reasons, please communicate in advance with your assigned Peer Advisor and Staff member.
Eligibility
An admitted Western Oregon University student, enrolled in Fall 2022 courses who also is one of the following:
2022 graduate from an Oregon high school
2021 graduate from an Oregon high school who did not attend college in 2021-22
2021 graduate from an Oregon high school who enrolled in an Oregon community college or university in 2021-22 and were adversely impacted by COVID-19 (reduced academic load, financial distress, poor grades, etc.)
Additionally, 2021/2022 graduates of Non-Oregon High School are also eligible, with priority given to Oregon graduates.
Preference will be given to students who:
Are from underserved communities
Have previously participated with AVID, ASPIRE, GEAR UP, and other student success or college access programs
Student who are a part of Student Enrichment Program, Teacher Prep SSS, Diversity Scholars, or Bilingual Teacher Scholars
Priority Application Deadline: 11:59pm, July 27, 2022
*Students eligible for the FAFSA will receive a $500 weekly stipend over the two week experience.
**Students not eligible for the FAFSA will be reimbursed the cost of one FYS 107 or FYS 207 course tuition for a course taken the 2022-2023 academic year. This is equivalent to roughly $850
