2025 Save Our Fourth Association (SOFA) Fair Haven 4th of July Parade Participant Application


Join Us for the 2025  Save Our Fourth (SOFA) Fair Haven 4th of July Parade!

Event Date & Time: Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, 7:00 p.m.
Location: Main Street, Fair Haven, NY

There is a $25 parade donation fee for all businesses, organizations, and individuals who wish to participate — One fee per group or float, with a maximum of 2 vehicles. Municipalities and government-sponsored entries are exempt from this fee (village, town, county, and state governments, fire departments, highway departments, etc. Campaigns for election and non-profit organizations are NOT exempt.). All donations are non-refundable.

Parade lineup will begin at 4:00 and we ask that all participants be there by 6:00. The front of the parade will line up at Fancher Ave. & Main St., with all participants lining up behind that down Fancher Ave., Richmond Ave., and Lake St. Your specific lineup location and information will be sent to the email address you provide here, so please be sure to use an email address that you check regularly as the date approaches.

Registration Deadline: All registrations and payments MUST be received by June 25, 2025.

Please read the rules below and complete the form to apply. Be sure to acknowledge the rules and sign the liability waiver. Once submitted, you will be directed to a online payment page after clicking "Submit". There, you can pay your parade fee with your credit card, PayPal, or Venmo.

Parade Rules Acknowledgment

By checking the box below, you acknowledge that you agree to follow the parade rules outlined below:

1. Candy Distribution:
Candy must be handed out by an individual walking, not thrown from a moving vehicle or equipment.

2. Maintain Safe Distance:
Maintain a safe distance between vehicles and walking participants (one car length).

3. Professionalism:
Demonstrate professionalism at all times, from setup to the end of the parade, while walking, riding, or driving.

4. Respect for Others:
Be courteous to other businesses, spectators, and volunteers throughout the event.

5. Stay on Route:
Stay on the designated parade route and be mindful of your surroundings.

6. Vehicle Limit:
Each business or organization is limited to TWO vehicles per application.

7. Judge’s Stand Demonstrations:
All demonstrations at the Judges' stand must be under 3 minutes, from setup to completion, to keep the parade moving.

8. No Liquid Sprays:
No liquids may be sprayed on spectators.

9. Entry Deadline:
All applications and fees must be received by June 25, 2025. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

10. Encouraged Decorations:
We encourage participants to create well-decorated floats, vehicles, and equipment with a festive RED, WHITE & BLUE theme to enhance community engagement.

Save Our Fourth Association (SOFA) Events Release Form

In consideration of the mutual agreement between the Participant(s) listed below and Save Our Fourth Association (SOFA), both parties agree to the following:

1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, participant(s) agree to defend, indemnify and hold
harmless SOFA, all its officers, directors, volunteers, members, agents, partners, coordinators,
associates, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, suits, liens, judgements, damages,
losses and expenses including attorney/legal fees and costs arising from, or in any way
connected with, any work by the participant in SOFA events.

2. Participant(s) agree to be solely responsible for themselves, their equipment, personal
property, etc., utilized in connection with any SOFA event in which they are involved wherever
occurring, including Village of Fair Haven, parks, parking lots, private property. This disclaimer
includes any loss, damage, theft or any type of abuse to themselves or any of their property.

3. Participants agree to all rules and regulations established by law and SOFA, for all SOFA
events they are part of, and to utilize common sense and good taste.

SOFA strives to provide a family-friendly event that is safe for all participants, attendees,
especially for children.

I(We) hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless SOFA, any/all associates from any claims.

I(We) will obey all aforementioned rules and regulations.
