Course DescriptionAfter 70 years in exile, the Jews had returned home and rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem under Ezra. Hence, they were able to worship God in their own land, but the city still lay in ruins. The once-great capital of the Judah was in a depressing heap of rubble leaving the city defenceless against enemy attacks. When Nehemiah hears of this, he sets out to restore the city walls. The book of Nehemiah is his story in his own words.Nehemiah is about re-building God’s people as much as it is about the wall. Without strong leadership and a united community, she will stand vulnerable from the attacks of the enemy.
