i. We believe in God Our Father, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, the Source of Love (1st John 4: 8) who loves all people from every tribe and nation.
ii. We believe in God’s Son Christ Jesus conceived by the Holy Ghost born of the virgin Mary, who in his ministry healed the sick and liberated the oppressed, who was brutalized and crucified by the Roman Empire, and yet after three days, he rose again, victorious over sin and death (Colossians 2:14-15).
iii. We believe in the Holy Spirit who travels where God wills (John 3:9), breathing life in every generation (Ecclesiastes 7:10) preparing the World for the Good News as well as renewing the Church Universal.
iv. We believe Black Lives Matters. All of humanity is created with infinite worth (Genesis 9:6). God addresses our unique plights because of God’s preferential option for the poor (Proverbs 17:5). We seek justice for the lowly in order that the whole of creation may experience redemption. Therefore, mass incarceration, police brutality, racial profiling, and gun violence must be peacefully resisted.
