About the workshop

The music: we will cover a wide range of music, from France, Scotland, Germany and Italy and ranging from 5 to 22 parts:

Jean Mouton – Reges terrae congregati sunt

Robert Carver – O bone Jesu

Melchior Vulpius – Verbum caro factus est

Giovanni Gabrieli – Sonata XX in 22 parts

The workshop is suitable for  cornetts, sackbuts, curtals/dulcians, recorders, viol and violin family and plucked continuo.  Violin family players do not need to have a baroque instrument.

If in doubt, please ask! Acceptance will be subject to musical balance. Pitch is 440

Copies of parts will be available on the day.  Please bring a stand.

Covid precautions: Please do not attend the workshop if you are feeling unwell, or have received a positive test, or have been asked to self-isolate. If in the week before the workshop you are with someone who subsequently develops Covid, please take a precautionary test before attending. We will email you a few days before the workshop should any additional precautions become necessary.

Workshop fee
The workshop fee is £21 for members of SEMF and other Fora, £27 for non-members, but NB there is a surcharge of £2 for late bookings after the official closing date of 22nd September. If you are aged 26 or under you can pay a reduced fee of £9. (NB no unaccompanied under 18s, sorry).
