Descriptions of officer positions
Responsible for running the day to day work of the committee and implementing its long term goals. This involves coordinating with steering and other committees and identifying opportunities for cross committee collaboration and support, managing relationships with external organizations, and facilitating endorsement processes.
Helps facilitate the logistics of our committee and meetings. That means finding locations for meetings, organizing for events, and making sure that the committee is doing everything it can to help! This is a great role if you’re new to DSA-LA or organizing. It’ll involve working directly with the co-chairs to help facilitate the committee, but without a lot of the larger chapter-wide demands of a co-chair.
Helps make sure everybody who is interested in the committee is involved and on-boarding new members! They’ll help keep attendance, reach out to new members, etc.
Works with the chapter’s communications director to work on outward facing materials, like with the press, social media, and our chapter’s internal communications. If you have any experience in PR or social media, this is a great role!
