ABOUT: 
Boomtown FestAVL is a vibrant tribute to Asheville's rich history, arts, and culture, showcasing an eclectic mix of musical performances, trail tours, and community-driven activities. From the city's storied past as a turn of the century boomtown to its current status as a hub of creativity and innovation, the festival aims to celebrate and preserve the unique heritage that makes Asheville a beloved destination. Boomtown will bring together an array of artists, musicians, and storytellers, creating an immersive experience that highlights the city's diverse cultural tapestry. Attendees can look forward to a dynamic lineup of main stage performances, interactive workshops, heritage exhibits, and trail tours that highlight Asheville's architectural marvels, pioneering figures, and stories of resilience.

The event will be held at Pack Square Park as a free event for the community with ticketed after party shows at The Orange Peel Friday and Saturday Nights.

Volunteers earn entry to the ticketed shows, as well as a Boomtown T-shirt, and a special place in our hearts for helping us serve our community. Jobs include bartending, set up, break down, hospitality, artist check in, floaters/greeters and more.

1 Volunteer shift = ticket to one night of shows
2 Volunteer Shifts = ticket to both nights of shows

We encourage volunteers to complete a Crowd Control certificate - earn two drink tickets
All bartenders must complete a Responsible Alcohol Seller Program certification - earn two drink tickets 

Volunteer Shifts will be approximately 5 hours (maybe a little less, maybe a little more)

Volunteer Agreement 
By signing up to volunteer for the Boomtown Arts and Heritage FestAVL, you agree to the following:

Adherence to Laws: Volunteers will strictly adhere to all laws and regulations of the State of North Carolina and the City of Asheville.

RASP Certification (Bar Positions): Volunteers assigned to bar positions are required to complete and pass the RASP (Responsible Alcohol Seller Program) certification. Proof of certification must be provided upon request.

Crowd Control Certification (optional but appreciated): 

No Alcohol Consumption: Volunteers will not consume alcoholic beverages before or during their scheduled shifts. Any volunteer found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately dismissed from their duties.

Professional Conduct: Volunteers agree to act in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner towards all festival attendees, staff, fellow volunteers, and vendors.

Safety First: Volunteers will prioritize safety for themselves and others, following all safety guidelines and instructions provided by event organizers.

Following Instructions: Volunteers agree to follow all reasonable instructions and directives from event staff and team leaders.

Waiver: Volunteers understand and acknowledge that they are participating at their own risk and release the Boomtown Arts and Heritage FestAVL, its organizers, staff, and partners from any liability for injury or damages incurred during their volunteer service, except where prohibited by law.
