The Early Innovation Fund from Tech Comm is designed to help advance the technology readiness of an innovation through a variety of means including support for buying materials, building prototypes, testing services, student workers, and entrepreneurial activities.

All submissions must come from an investigator employed at UMN, must be based on University owned innovations and/or IP, and must be supported by a submitted Intellectual Property Disclosure Form (IPDF). If the requirements of the IPDF don’t fit your innovation well, please reach out to Tim Cusack (cusac021@umn.edu) to discuss ways to provide Tech Comm with the needed information to evaluate your submission. If an IP Disclosure Form (IPDF) has already been submitted for your innovation please indicate the relevant Case # below.
