Data Book Club RSVP Form - Summer 2024

If you would like to sign up for the in-person Summer 2024 Data Book Club, please fill out this form to help the organizers determine the meeting day/time. The book club, which is sponsored by the Department of Statistics, is open to Harvard students (both undergraduate and graduate), faculty, postdocs, and staff. The book club will be held in-person at the Harvard Science Center (1 Oxford Street, Cambridge) from the week of July 8th through the week of August 12th for a total of 6 weeks.

For the first 4 weeks, we will discuss the book "Unmasking AI: My Mission to Protect What Is Human in a World of Machines" by Joy Buolamwini. For the last 2 weeks, we will read selected articles from the Harvard Data Science Review. We hope to purchase books for the students who sign up.

Please fill out this RSVP form by Monday, June 24th at the latest. On June 25th, we will send out an email announcement with the selected day/time to everyone who filled out the form by then. If you mark yourself as available in the form below for the selected day/time, then we will count this as your RSVP and will subscribe you to the book club listserv. If you mark yourself as unavailable for the selected day/time, we will ask you whether you would still like to be subscribed to the book club listserv.
