Teachers will explore making by building a jukebox, pinball machine and derby race track, then code each to create a wholistic, hands-on experience that they can take back to their classrooms and have their students explore coding and making. Teachers will receive a stipend of $250 for attending the training, plus over $1,000 in supplies and equipment to take back to their classrooms for immediate implementation. All materials and activities are TEKS aligned, plus teachers obtain various activities that promote team building, communication, collaboration and computational thinking. Any teacher having to travel can also apply for a travel stipend to cover those expenses.
