In 1983, when MLK Day was first recognized as a federal holiday, it was seen as a "day off" from work. It did not take long for people to recognize that it was ironic to view a day dedicated to a man who worked tirelessly for justice and civil rights as a day to take off work. In response, the MLK Day ON for service has challenged citizens to transform the King Holiday into a day of action and volunteer service in honor of Dr. King.
Join St. George's in one of the following opportunities on Monday, January 15th to serve the greater good this MLK Day!
There is something for everyone, young and old, so don't miss it!
