Do you know who lives next door or down the block? Here's your chance to change no into yes by getting to Know Your Neighbors! The goal of these events is to take the first step in meeting your neighbors, and to strengthen community bonds and trust between all. Know Your Neighbor Grants help to supplement the cost of conducting small neighborhood gatherings by providing a way to socialize and an opportunity to identify neighborhood needs or concerns.
Purpose:

May be used for a variety of events such as block parties, potlucks or ice cream socials; helpful tool to collect your neighbors’ contact info so you can build up a neighborhood group
Grant Details:
●
Grant recipients will be given a pre-loaded $100 King Soopers gift card for block parties or $50 Home Depot gift card for neighborhood clean-up events
●
Awarded on a first come, first served basis until the allocated funds are depleted
●
Submit applications in 2019 at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event
●
Eligible expenses may include food and supplies needed for a neighborhood gathering. Alcohol, cigarettes and any illegal substances are not eligible.
Grant Eligibility and Application Requirements:

You must be a resident or property owner in the City of Arvada to be eligible to apply for a Know Your Neighbor Grant
●
A block or neighborhood may only receive funding for a Know Your Neighbor Grant ONCE per year.
●
If not yet enrolled, all applicants must commit to forming a neighborhood group through our Neighbors Connected program by filling out our Enrollment Form (it can be found online at
arvada.org/neighborhoods).
●
If you plan to close your street or utilize a City Park for your event, submit a Block Party Permit request in conjunction with the Know Your Neighbor Grant (it can be found online at
arvada.org/blockpartypermit).
● Upon completion of your event, submit your receipts and 2-3 photos to Charise Canales, Neighborhood Engagement Coordinator at
CCanales@arvada.org, and fill out the Grant Evaluation form.
