By the giving of a simple 'Welcome Box', Welcomers (our volunteers) are able to visit their new Neighbours (refugees and asylum seekers) in their homes and introduce them to the local community.
This gives individuals confidence in getting to know the local area, finding a place to belong and call home. Welcomers can also signpost individuals to any support they need from other local services, should they require it. Normally, Welcomers work with their new Neighbour over a period of three months to help them to integrate and find their feet.
Welcome Boxes is project run by Welcome Churches (registered charity number: 1177344) in partnership with local churches across the UK. If you would like to find out more information about the work of Welcome Churches, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please fill in the form below to make a referral to Welcome Boxes today. We aim to visit the new Neighbour within two weeks of the referral being made. Please be aware that the people going on the Welcome Boxes visit are volunteers and will have limited capacity. We will let you know once the visit has been made.
The local church will then help to welcome the individual / family over approximately three months, depending on the needs of the individual.
We will store this data for 12 months, after which it will be deleted.
