2020 Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Performing and Martial Arts Guidelines and Application

This is an application for the 2020 Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival to participate as a Performing Artist or Martial Arts Group.

Date: Saturday, April 4, 2020
Place: Public Square at Metro Courthouse in downtown Nashville
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine

Sakura Matsuri, the Cherry Blossom Festival, highlights the culture and traditions of Japan. So, performances and demonstrations should reflect this. The Festival has a full day of live performances. The front steps of the Metro Courthouse serve as the Main Stage for the Festival. The Union Street Stage is located within the Public Square and will serve as the venue for Martial Arts and other performances and demonstrations.

All performances must reflect some aspect of or connection with Japanese culture, and all martial arts should be traditional Japanese martial arts. The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Committee will decide the stage location for each performer and make every effort to accommodate performance time requests. Final decisions regarding scheduling are made by the Planning Committee.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will not able to accept applications after February 1, 2020. Applying as early as possible is advised. Our performance schedule may be full before February 1st.

Performers will be notified within 5 days after the application is received.

Performers are invited to display information and materials related to the performance, however performers are responsible for the sale or distribution of information or related products. Please indicate on the application form if this something you wish to do.

Performers are personally responsible for medical and personal injury insurance.

The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Committee regrets that it is unable to compensate its performers.

First-time applicants MUST send information, photographs, brochures, visuals, website links, etc. of their performances to Ginger Byrn at gbyrn@comcast.net.

If you have any questions, please email Ginger Byrn at gbyrn@comcast.net.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2020 Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival!
