We are thrilled that you feel called to serve on the Regional Youth Ministry Council of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest. You will be representing Disciples Crossing to the region as you serve on the RYMC (Regional Youth Ministry Council) and plan/lead Christian Youth Leadership Seminar (CYLS) next summer. Serving on the RYMC and the Disciples Crossing YMC takes commitment and we pray that you will prioritize service on both councils over other commitments. Essay:
Write an essay telling the Interview Committee about you, your faith journey, your gifts (and maybe areas of struggle for you), what makes you you---school/family/church/extra-curriculars/etc.) Your essay should help the Committee know you better and understand where you are on your faith journey , what gifts and skills you bring to the table and why you want to serve on the DCYMC. We encourage you to have your family and/or minister or youth leader read over your essay with you before submitting.

Some things you could include, if you need help with the structure of your essay:

a. Describe the ways you are and will continue to be involved in your church.

b. Describe what you think it means to be a Christian.

c. Describe your most significant experience in your journey of faith.

d. Describe your Disciples Crossing Camp experiences and why they have been significant in your life and your faith journey.

e. Touch on your hobbies, interests, and talents.

f. Describe your hopes, dreams, and goals.

g. What gifts do you bring that would make you an effective servant-leader on the Regional Youth Ministry Council?
