The training is July 10-11, 2018. The first day, July 10, is a classroom day in Tucson at Pima Community College Downtown campus in the Amethyst Room. The second day, July 11, will begin with a morning field practice on Sonoita Creek in Patagonia, followed by a visit to more arid cuckoo habitat in the mountains. You will be practicing cuckoo surveys on Sonoita Creek at The Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve and Tucson Audubon's Paton Center.
Anyone that has helped with the last three years of Tucson Audubon's Yellow-billed Cuckoo surveys is encouraged to do this free workshop and be added to the permit. If you are interested in participating in the July 10-11 workshop please contact Jennie as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org, we need to get some info to USFWS before hand.
Any volunteers who do this training will be able to help lead some survey routes of interest later this summer! Please join our Yellow-billed Cuckoo survey leader team!
