REYES/HALES mentor project information
Thank you for considering being a mentor to an aspiring STEM-H student. This form is applicable for mentors interested in assisting in REYES [Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists - https://odu.edu/reyes] and/or HALES [High-Achieving Latinxs in Engineering & Science  - https://www.odu.edu/hales].

The purpose of the mentor program is to match one of the thousands of students that have joined REYES and/or HALES with experts like yourself to work together in a summer project. The project would cover an expanse of 4-8 weeks starting on June 28th and it would be done remotely. As the mentor, you are welcomed to use your judgement as to the appropriate time scale of the project. The mentors would be expected to meet at least once a week with their mentees virtually via Zoom, Bluejeans, Skype, or whatever platform the mentor prefers.

The mentees that would be allowed to participate in this program are either currently in Middle School, High School, or early in their college career. Below you can specify which age group you would be willing to work with.

The project could fall within three categories:
(i) research-based and original,
(ii) literature review of a specific topic,
(iii) a virtual-job shadowing experience for the mentee,
or any combination of them.

Below please provide a summary of the project you are willing to host.

The mentees will be matched depending on their academic level and interest.
