Leadership Lanier Youth Application 2025
Requirements: Participants in the Leadership Lanier Youth program are residents of Lanier County and are rising Juniors or Seniors. Note: the committee reserves the flexibility to expand the applicant base if necessary. Selection Criteria: Participants in Leadership Lanier Youth are selected after consideration of their recognized and potential leadership and the merit of their application. The Selection Committee desires a cross-section of students, reflecting current community demographics. At the conclusion of the Leadership Lanier Youth program, participants will have developed a network of in-depth relationships with  students of various backgrounds from the community and will have gained a deeper and broader knowledge of issues facing Lakeland & Lanier County.

THE PROGRAM : Students who are selected as participants in this year's LLY class are REQUIRED to attend the retreat (August) and three other weekday sessions (September, October, & November), focusing on community and teen issues. Participants can expect to listen to speakers, attend field trips, problem solve, and become actively involved in session topics. Community involvement is also required. Students are expected to travel as a group, and transportation as well as meals will be provided. Attendance is a mandatory expectation. If an emergency arises, a written excuse must be submitted to the LLY sponsor to determine if the excuse is, in fact, excused.
