Fighting Words Playwrights Programme at Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge
Fighting Words are leading a playwriting programme at Riverbank Arts Centre that will support young writers to create a new work for the stage. In a series of group workshops led by the Fighting Words team, participants will learn playwriting skills including how to write characters and structure a duologue. The writers will receive supportive feedback on their work and will be encouraged to realise their artistic vision.
The plays created during this programme will also have the opportunity to be performed on the Riverbank stage by a Youth Theatre group in 2020 and will be published in Playshare, an anthology of plays created for young people by Youth Theatre Ireland.
Dates: The programme begins on the 5th of October.
Applications will be accepted until 5pm Monday 23rd September and will be assessed by a panel from Fighting Words, Riverbank Arts Centre, and Youth Theatre Ireland. The successful applicants will be notified by 25th September. Please note, there are limited places available and this programme is free for participants.
