Mentee/Mentor Coordinator Application
•Coordinates and conducts recruitment, interviews and orientations for potential mentees and their families
•Conducts check-ins with mentees and mentors as needed, including mentors as resources
•Creates and manages system for tracking mentees’ academic performance (progress reports) and delegate •mentors/volunteers to tutor mentees as necessary
•Work with Youth Program Coordinator to maintain and updates mentee files
•Facilitates regular mentor check-ins/meetings and ensures that mentors are completing contact logs
•Plans annual mentor appreciation activities
•Coordinates and conducts recruitment, interviews and orientations for mentors and volunteers
•Manages and advises the mentors and provides support to the mentee-mentor relationship
•Develops an external network of resources for mentee referrals
•Works closely with Program Director and Parent Coordinator to identify issues of concern for mentors, mentees and their families; and refers appropriate resources
•Manages volunteers by delegating tasks and projects

As part of Project MotiVATe, I understand that my role as a Coordinator is as follows:

• Provide/assist administrative oversight of the program
• Meet regularly with Coordinator team and PD to plan Project MotiVATe activities
• Provide support for one full calendar year to meet the goals and guidelines of the program
• Regularly attend PM events, including:
• To attend annual summer camp (Mid August)
• To attend weekly study hall and monthly activities
• To attend coordinating/staff trainings/retreats

A small gratuity stipend is provided for this position and is subject to carrying out the roles and responsibility associated with the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience working with youth programs and/or planning events
• Patience, flexibility and creativity
• Familiar with the Vietnamese American community's needs and concerns
• Conversational in Vietnamese language (preferred but not required)
• Able to regularly attend Coordinator team meetings, weekly study hall (Weds. 6-9pm) and monthly events (1x per month)
• Able to commit for one year (August – July)
• Preferred two years of higher education or equivalent work experience

Time Commitment and Compensation: 10-15 hours/week, volunteer with stipend for 1-year commitment.
