Mental Health Presentations - school-wide
Check Your Mood and Minding Your Mind

7th & 8th Grade: Wangenheim Middle School has a very important program called Check Your Mood Week. Check Your Mood Week is part of the HERE NOW Program. The HERE NOW project aims to educate youth and families on the risk factors of suicide and reduce the stigma around seeking help for themselves and others in order to reduce and prevent suicide.

Students will view a presentation and complete a mental health screening.

Minding Your Mind

6th Grade: To further enhance our mental health education, we are bringing in a program called Changing Minds: Stories Over Stigma featuring Young Adult Speakers from a nonprofit mental health education foundation called Minding Your Mind for students. During this educational presentation, students will hear from a young adult who has experienced a mental health challenge, developed healthy coping skills, and shares a message of hope that support is available. This evidence-based program is aimed at ending the stigma around mental health challenges and conditions while encouraging students to seek help for themselves or a friend as early as possible. Our Adjustment Counselors will continue to be available to any student seeking support before, during, and after this presentation.
