Call for Space: Statewide Need for Temporary Rapid COVID Testing Facilities
New York State is searching for space that can be temporarily donated by property owners to house rapid Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing facilities by national and local labs.
THE CRITERIA FOR THE SPACE NEEDED IS BELOW:
SQUARE FOOTAGE:
About 750-1,500 square feet (larger space is OK as long as it is also donated).
LOCATION:
Commercial corridors throughout the five boroughs, with an emphasis on outer boroughs. Proximity to transportation hubs (Grand Central, Penn Station, Oculus, Atlantic-Barclays Station, etc.) and subway stations desirable.
TENANT:
Lab/testing service provider – a lease or license agreement would be in place between the owner and tenant.
LEASE DURATION:
6-month lease immediately available. Can be in in a week and out without damage, with full understanding that if the owner secures a paying tenant, the tenant will vacate.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Street-level storefronts with walk-in access. Open space with no or minimal internal changes needed. High foot traffic areas. Working A/C and heat. Must have lights and a bathroom, preferably an ADA-compliant one. Empty and broom clean space that will be kept clean. No carpeted floors. No major construction either inside or out preferred.
