Travel Scholarships

The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association (APIA) is offering limited travel scholarships to assist eligible participants traveling from outside of Anchorage to attend the 2026 APIA Culture Camp.

Prior to 2026, travel scholarships were managed by Aleut's Ulakaia Center (formerly The Aleut Foundation).  Travel Scholarships continue to be funded by Aleut (thank you!) But this year, in order to streamline services, eligible participants wishing to attend the APIA Culture Camp may apply directly through APIA's Cultural Heritage Department.

    Travel Scholarship Details

    • Travel scholarships will cover roundtrip airfare and ground transportation (Uber/Taxi) to and from Culture Camp activities (one round trip per day).
    • All airfare will be arranged and coordinated by APIA. Travel costs will be paid directly by APIA.
    • Uber/Taxi expenses may be reimbursed with submission of receipts and a completed W-9 form.
    • Selected applicants will be contacted directly by APIA staff to coordinate travel details.
    • Applicants must also submit a 2026 APIA Culture Camp Application to be considered for a travel scholarship.
