Amplify Colorado is a response to calls from Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community members and journalists who participated in the Voices Initiative, a program led by the Colorado News Collaborative (COLab) and Colorado Media Project (CMP).

Voices members sought an online diverse source guide to help newsrooms tap into the wealth of expertise, insight and experience among Coloradans who identify as a person of color or as part of other communities newsrooms have historically marginalized, including, but not limited to, women, youth, elders, LGTBQ+, Coloradans with disabilities, rural residents, veterans, immigrants and refugees. Amplify also includes reporters’ and editors’ contact information so community members can more easily find them. The goal is to provide our state with more accurate, equitable and inclusive news coverage.

We wish to include not only those with formal or institutional expertise, but also members of our community willing to share their lived experiences. For example, if you are an immigrant or refugee or the child of immigrants or refugees, if you are the first college graduate in your family, if you’ve been saving money to buy a home, if you’re a parent of school children — all experiences can lead local news reporters to a greater understanding of who we are as Coloradans.

If you would like to add your name and/or suggest someone else for inclusion in the database, please fill out the form below. COLab, with support from CMP, will lead creation of the guide, which is expected to launch this fall.

Please note that a red asterisk after a question means it is required. All other questions are optional.

Also, COLab will NOT publish any of your information or the source's information without consent. Likewise, completing this form does not guarantee that you or the source you recommend will appear in the database. Contact us at info@colabnews.co if you have any questions.
