Do you know what happened on February 28, 1947 that marked a salient chapter on Taiwan’s history? FAPA Young Professionals Group and GWU Organization for Asian Studies cordially invite you to a special screening of a Hollywood thriller “Formosa Betrayed”, starring James Van Der Beek, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the 228 Massacre that triggered the start of the democratic movement in Taiwan. The event is free, opened to public, and designed for those who do not have in-depth knowledge on Taiwan’s history. An American missionary, who witnessed the white terror in Taiwan during the martial law period, will share his story and analysis on how Taiwan became a beacon of democracy in Asia. Bring your friends and family to learn more about Taiwan’s democracy!
