As a Player and as a Family/Guardian, we accept the offer to join the Burlington Football Club for the 2024-2025 season. We agree to commit to the Club’s philosophy for soccer, which is summarized in our biggest values of Community, Character, and Commitment. Coaches will spend time talking about what these themes mean throughout the year. But from a contract perspective, we agree to the following:
COMMUNITY
Burlington FC is a non-profit community-based soccer club dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive training and competitive opportunities for Players of all backgrounds, genders, ages, and skill levels regardless of ability to pay. As a Community, we agree to support and encourage each other, and make all who attend our events feel welcome. Players commit to working constructively with Coaches and Teammates to improve their individual skills as well as overall Team performance, and to support Teammates and BFC members at other levels in their own efforts to improve. Players and Families actively participate in efforts to support BFC’s Scholarship Program through fundraising events and volunteering, so that BFC can continue to make this opportunity available to all in our community.
CHARACTER
At BFC, we believe how we play soccer and the attitude we bring to the pitch everyday is a reflection of who we are. As a part of this community, Players and Families represent BFC with the highest level of sportsmanship and conduct on and off the field at all events. Players and Families refrain from sideline coaching and derogatory remarks directed at the Coach, Referee, or Opposing Team or its Fans to create an environment where ALL members are able to think and act freely in their best efforts. Players and Families support each other and are respectful toward other Families, Teams, and Coaches. We are committed to providing a safe, friendly, and caring competitive soccer experience for all. Harassment and/or bullying of any kind is unacceptable and will be dealt with promptly and effectively.
We, as families and players, will also discuss any issues that we may with the coach, first, then working with the Executive Director if the issue is needing further attention. We will also adhere to the "24-Hour Rule," meaning we will wait 24-hours before contacting the coach after any soccer-decision that is made (if safety is in question we will go directly to the coach AND the Executive Director.
COMMITMENT
At BFC, every Player makes a commitment to themselves, their Teammates, their Coaches, and the Club. That commitment is simple: Attend all scheduled events, strive to be the Best Soccer Player and Teammate at all times, and give back when possible to show appreciation for the opportunities we have here together. We also have the expectation of communicating directly with coaches if an event is going to be missed.
To hold up this bargain, we understand that by accepting this offer we are expected to participate in all scheduled practices, games, accepted tournaments, and all other team obligations. If an event is not able to be participated in, we will communicate directly with the coach to make sure they are aware and can plan accordingly.
ACCEPTANCE
We understand the commitments as outlined in this agreement. If concerns regarding a player's or family's adherence to club agreements arise, the club will collaborate with all involved parties to address and resolve the issue. If the situation remains unresolved, potential consequences may include reduced playing time or removal from the team, with no refund provided.
The submission of our names below indicates that we accept and agree to all commitments for the entirety of the 2024-2025 Burlington FC season.
