NSBE R3 2017-2018 International Committee Application

Thank you for considering a position on the International Committee. Application closes by 11:59PM CST, September 20, 2017.

The aim of the NSBE R3 2017-2018 International Committee is to improve all things international in Region 3. This ranges from making international students in the US feel welcome to establishing new international chapters around the world. This year is one of international success and I'm excited to go through this journey with you. See below for the descriptions of the 3 positions on this committee, as well as some expectations. Our committee will be a fluid, input and result-driven community and your perspectives and ideas will more than likely modify the current descriptions. 1) R3 International Ambassadors Coordinator(s)

***Goal: Help provide Undergraduate international students with valuable resources/opportunities to help their STEM education and career development.

-Help co-ordinate the affairs of the undergraduate and graduate international ambassadors
-Create surveys and record feedback from international students in the US.
-Be in charge of finding out information about one or two unpenetrated international country(ies).
-Submit a monthly report of progress

2) R3 International Programs Coordinator

***Goal: Assist the International Chair in planning and executing any non-conference programs

-Help co-ordinate the materials and implementation of any international programs including the International week.
-Give insight on future international programming based on student feedback.
-Find out international information to be publicized during the international week and on the international website
-Submit a monthly report of progress

3) R3 International Conference Coordinator
***Goal: Assist the International Chair in all things conference-related

-Take care of the details of conference event(s) and perform any necessary pre- and post-conference workshop activities
-Handle the logistics involved with international chapters coming to conference
-Find out international information to be publicized during the international week and on the international website
-Submit a monthly report of progress

This committee will also include one representative from each international chapter.


1)Monthly conference call
Purpose: To keep in contact with each other and ensure that we are all on the same page and moving towards our individual goals.

2)Monthly report
Purpose: Allow us to document our progress and help the international committees in the coming years.

3)A team with love, trust and accountability. Transparency without excuses.
