Sandy Bottom Farm CSA Sign-Up 2025
Free Choice CSA -  Buy what you want, when you want.  

We grow over 50 certified organic crops, including a wide range of vegetables, small fruits, and ginger.

How it works:
You decide how much or how little (or even if) you spend during any given week, but once we reach the end of the year, your share will not roll over.  

We keep track of how much you have spent--all you have to do is pick out your favorite produce without the hassle of having to grab cash.

You can use your share flexibly through these venues:
-  Our Farm Stand (2468 Main St. Isle La Motte)
       - Daily from dawn to dusk, April through October
-  The Champlain Islands SUMMER Farmers Market
      - Saturdays at St. Joseph's in Grand Isle,  10 - 2
      - Wednesdays at St. Rose in South Hero, 3 - 6
      - Operates Mid-May through September, Saturdays through October
The Champlain Islands WINTER Farmers Market
      - Saturdays in November and December
      - South Hero Congregational Church
-  Through our Home Delivery service:
      - Order Sundays for Monday delivery, estimated to run mid-March through mid-November (35 weeks!)
      - $20 minimum purchase for free delivery, or select free pickup on the farm, or add $5 below $20 for home delivery.

Selecting your Share Size:
You can pick whatever amount you think makes sense to you.  Here's a guide if you want to calculate what you think you need.  

Our CSA delivery season runs from mid-March to mid-November, with the main season being June through September (roughly 16 weeks) the total season is roughly 35 weeks.  There are roughly 19 weeks in the off season.  

A good ballpark number is $30 per week for the main season, two-thirds to half of that amount at the ends of the season (if you use a per week calculation, don't forget to multiply by your anticipated number of weeks to get the total share amount).  Keep in mind there are also farmers' markets from May through December, and the farm stand is open May through October.

The average share size for single individuals is around $400, the average share for a multi-person household is $600, and for a household that uses a lot of vegetables or is larger, the share size is usually around $1,000. 

We have members with share values ranging from $100 to $1800.  Minimum share is $100.  If you sign up and pay for your share before March 1, you will get 10% added to your share.

In addition, shares of $600 or more will automatically receive another 5% in their credit, and shares of $1,000 or more will automatically receive another 10% in their credit.

Supporting our CSA Community *
Our farm offers a subsidized CSA program, where we work with local organizations to offer a partially- to fully-subsidized CSA to folks in our community who otherwise couldn't afford access to healthy, local food.  You can donate to this program here!  Just let us know if you'd like to apply any of your share to a family in need, and in what amount.   Every family who is a subsidized member lives in Grand Isle County; in 2023 we served 3 households and two food shelves thanks to your generosity and the help of other local organizations.  Your 10% early payment bonus is an easy way to support your neighbors!
