How are you getting through unemployment?
We’re reporters covering economic inequality in California for the California Divide, a collaboration between CalMatters, the Fresno Bee, the Salinas Californian, La Opinión, and the San Jose Mercury News.
These are not normal times. Across the state, people's lives and finances have been thrown upside down by COVID-19.
We want to talk to people who have lost wages or jobs due the pandemic about how they're getting by. Have you taken out a loan? Started a side business? Gone into debt? Moved into a family member's home? Applied to jobs in a completely different field?
If you’d like to share your story, answer the questions below and we will follow up with you.
You might also find interesting our previous reporting on homelessness, affordable housing, dental care, food stamps, the criminal justice system and much more. You can find it here:
A NOTE ABOUT OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR PRIVACY: We appreciate you sharing your story and we take your privacy seriously. The California Divide is gathering this information for our reporting, and will not publish or share the information you submit without your permission.
