Welcome to BookGorilla.com Title Promotions - Information and Sign-up Page

PLEASE NOTE: Although there's a lot of information that we try to share below, let's start out on this very simple basis: the vast majority of BookGorilla promotions cost only $40 to $50. You will only pay more than $50 if you choose to price your book above 99 cents or if you wish to pay extra (and you qualify) for a Starred Item designation (see more about that below).

Please read carefully so you don't miss out on our exciting new price break on promotions involving Kindle books priced at 99 cents! We're not saying that 99 cents is the new FREE, but our subscribers love books priced at 99 cents, so we want to make it as easy as possible for you to offer your book at that price point. Conversely, please be aware that when you price your book above $1.99 for a BookGorilla promotion, you are pricing it higher than 85% of the books recommended on BookGorilla, including bestsellers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will be invoiced via PayPal promptly if we approve your promotion submission. PayPal invoices SOMETIMES get caught in spam filters, BUT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO LOCATE YOUR INVOICE AND PAY IT UPON RECEIPT.

Please SCROLL DOWN to sign up after you have read this page in full.

*********** CURRENT AVAILABILITY: ** MARCH 26, 2017 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2018.

Please keep the following in mind regarding BookGorilla spots:

** Our paramount mission is to provide value -- great books at great prices -- for our subscribers and other readers, so one thing we would try to avoid would be to include a title on BookGorilla within 30 days after its price had been raised. So, for example, if one of your books has been FREE in the past few days, it would be kind of a slap in the face to promote it at $0.99 or $1.99 or $2.99 today. We encourage authors and publishers to plan promotions so that we can all avoid this kind of thing. WARNING: If we discover that the price you set for a BookGorilla promotion amounts to a price increase over any price charged for the same book at any time during the previous 30 days, we will not run your promotion, and while we will work with you, we cannot guarantee that we would refund your payment under such circumstances.

** If you purchase a KND promotion that qualifies your title for a BookGorilla promotion at no additional charge, please be aware that such a BookGorilla slide-over promotion will only appear on the day of (or one of the days of) your KND promotion. Also, the BookGorilla slide-over promotion must be for the same title that is featured in the BookGorilla promotion, and the price for the promotion must be no higher than $1.99.

Thanks so much for your interest in opportunities to promote your books via www.BookGorilla.com, a daily email service that informs readers about quality ebooks at great prices. What we do for authors and publishers is very simple: we include your books in our daily emails, which are personally tailored to the preferences of tens of thousands of opt-in subscribers. We strongly urge you to subscribe at www.bookgorilla.com/k and take a look around the website, if you have not done so already -- that's the best way to see what our readers see.

Please note: if you want to be able to see your books when they are listed on BookGorilla, it is imperative that you set your BookGorilla preferences to receive 50 books in your daily email and, of course, include any genres or categories (including Bestsellers) in which you might expect to find your book. We strongly recommend that you sign up for your free BookGorilla subscription now, if you have not already done so, at http://www.bookgorilla.com/k.

We are happy to consider any book that you submit for a paid promotional spot in our daily BookGorilla email, but right from the beginning we want to make sure that you are aware of our very specific requirements for participation. In order to qualify for inclusion in any BookGorilla email, a book must meet three requirements: one regarding FREQUENCY of appearance, one regarding PRICE, and the other regarding QUALITY.

FREQUENCY: We want to emphasize that we must limit the frequency with which any title appears in our BookGorilla email alerts: we do our utmost to avoid having any book appear before our readers more than once in any 14-day period. Whenever you secure a BookGorilla spot either directly or through Kindle Nation Daily, we will run that spot for one day only on BookGorilla.

PRICE: With respect to price, there are several things to keep in mind, but the first is that we will never put a promoted single-title ebook in front of our readers with a price above $3.99. Books featured on BookGorilla appear alongside books by bestselling authors offered at prices ranging from 99 cents to $2.99, and sometimes free, and the vast majority of the books in our mailings will be priced at $1.99 or below. About a fifth of the titles we feature will be free. We strongly suggest offering a promotional price or deal, and if you want your book to be presented in the most positive light we recommend that you provide exact, accurate information about the promotional price, the “everyday” price, and the specific date on which this deal will be available. If your book is not already listed at your stated price on the morning of your scheduled promotional spot on BookGorilla, the title will be removed from the newsletter and your payment will not be refunded. (Generally speaking, the only exception we would allow for the $3.99 price ceiling would be in the case of a “boxed set,” and such offerings will be considered on a case-by-case basis provided that the cost per individual title in a boxed set does not exceed $1.) The bottom line is obvious: please price your book competitively for juxtaposition with other titles that are being offered at promotional prices. As a general rule, if you want to build good relationships with our readers, we recommend against offering a free promotion within seven days of any paid promotion that you initiate on BookGorilla.

QUALITY: With respect to quality, our methodology is more subjective, but we can offer you some guidance. We have already rejected dozens of title submissions, and as a general rule of thumb, if your book has less than a 4-star rating or fewer than 5 reviews on its U.S. Kindle store page, you should expect it to be rejected unless it meets one of several other criteria: (a) it is a brand new release by an author with a past track record of highly rated books; (b) it has received very positive unpaid reviews from reviewers whom we respect; or (c) we have read the book and told you that it is approved. We apologize if our procedures seem too stringent (or, for that matter, too lax), but our overarching commitment is to our subscribers, and we intend to ensure that the books that our readers see highlighted on BookGorilla are worthy of their attention. We do accept erotica, since about 24% of our readers have stated it as a preference, but as with every other category, if it does not have any literary quality, it is not for us. We happily accept material that some might consider offensive, but not if its primary purpose, in our subjective judgment, is to offend. Our focus is on full-length books, so we are unlikely to accept short-form titles under 100 pages in length, except for some children's books and Kindle Singles of extraordinary distinction. Occasionally we will make exceptions to this length requirement for shorter ebooks that are offered FREE.

COST OF BOOKGORILLA PROMOTIONS - Please read carefully:

*FREE AND 99-CENT BOOKS (Priced between FREE and $0.99, inclusive.)

Group A: (Mysteries & Thrillers, Romance, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Religious Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror Fiction, Action and Adventure, Erotica, and Women’s Fiction) - $50

Group B: (Humor, Teen, Childrens, Advice and How-To, Biographies and Memoir, Cooking, General Non-Fiction, Politics, History and Current Events, Business and Investing Leadership, Sports, Other) - $40

*OTHER PAID BOOKS (Priced between $1.00 and $2.99, inclusive. Please add $100 to these prices if your book is priced above $2.99)

Group A: (Mysteries & Thrillers, Romance, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Religious Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror Fiction, Action and Adventure, Erotica, and Women’s Fiction) - $100

Group B: (Humor, Teen, Childrens, Advice and How-To, Biographies and Memoir, Cooking, General Non-Fiction, Politics, History and Current Events, Business and Investing Leadership, Sports, Other) - $75

If we accept your submission, your title will be included in the first 25 books that appear in all emails that include its genre(s) or categories. We allow our readers to select their preference as to whether their daily emails should include 12, 25 or 50 titles, and over 85% opt for 25 or more titles.

*Starred Titles Bonus

With any of the above groups and prices, you may submit your book for our consideration to be chosen as a Starred Title. If we select your book as a Starred Title based on our subjective sense of its quality and its suitability for readers in its category, it will be distinguished with a special Starred Title logo, and it will appear among the first 12 titles listed in each email in which it is included (based on readers’ category preferences, of course.) There is an additional charge of $75 for any title selected as a Starred Title. We will not bill you for this charge unless you submit your title and it is selected, but you must pay for this distinction promptly to remain in good standing with BookGorilla. Our decisions concerning a title’s suitability for inclusion among Starred Titles are both highly subjective, and final. (Please Note: The usual charge for Starred Item Status is $100, but we are offering a discounted price of $75 if you sign up by March 31, 2017.

Let us be clear that there's no need to opt for Starred Title status. 88% of our subscribers opt to receive 25 or more book recommendations each day, and they all receive personally tailored lists based on their preferred genres. If your book stands out based on quality, presentation, cover, price and your reputation with readers, there's not likely to be much difference between how well it performs whether it's listed in the first 12 or the second 12 or 13 spots in a daily BookGorilla email blast.

Thanks. If you'd like to see current information on BookGorilla's reach in different genres and categories, please visit http://bit.ly/BookGorilla-ReachStats.
