Choir Parent Application 2017
Part of the success of the Cincinnati Boychoir is excellent leadership. Choir Parents are a valued part of our program, and an important key to our success. They work hard, assisting the choir directors by helping set the tone of the choir during rehearsals. They take care of all non-musical needs (e.g. nose bleeds, bathroom breaks, missing music) and uphold rehearsal rules that carry over into behavior during concerts and tour.

Each individual choir within the Cincinnati Boychoir has two Choir Parents (Trainees, Apprentices, JourneyMen, DeltaChor, and Ambassadors). These parents are responsible for getting to know each boy, attending all rehearsals and concerts, assisting with discipline and behavior at rehearsals and concerts, and serving as a chaperone on tour.

Note on travel: the Trainees and Apprentices travel within the Cincinnati area. JourneyMen and DeltaChor may travel across state lines by bus for 2-5-day tours. The Ambassadors travel by bus and airplane, spend up to 20 days on the road, and every three years go overseas.

This is a full-year commitment. Parents may serve as Choir Parents for a maximum of two years.
