To participate in the cosplay contest, this form needs to be filled out to the best of your ability.

Craftsmanship -
This category is for the people who want their cosplay judged based on the parts that they made by professional cosplayers and crafters. The categories are broken down below. Contestants may be bumped up to a different category at the judges discretion.

Novice - First time competing, have not won an award at a previous convention or have little to no crafting experience. The cosplay must be 50% or more handmade by the contestant. This is the category for those who have no experience what so ever and want to try it out.

Journeyman - This is a more advanced category is for cosplayers who have made a major portion of their cosplay, roughly 75% and have competed or won novice in prior competitions.

Masters- this category is for people who have competed and won in several prior competitions and have achieved a master’s level of craftsmanship and quality.

Walk-ons
Cosplays can be handmade, bought, or closet cosplay -- all are welcome as a part of this portion of the contest. Entries will only be eligible for the "Judges Choice" or "Best Walk-On" awardsMasters - this category is for the cosplayers who h
Additional Accommodations
We will do our best to include accommodations where we can and within reason, but it is not a guarantee.  There will be a ramp and stair option for getting on/off the stage.

Let us know ahead of time if you need a handler, will be wielding a large prop, have a mobility device, etc.
Photo/Video Release: By signing this contract I hereby grant permission to Anime-Ames to use photographs and/or video taken of me during Anime-Ames 2024 for promotional purposes, including representing the convention at future events, on websites, social media, and other materials *

Rule Reminder: Costumes entered in the competition must not have previously won a major award (e.g., Best in Show, Best prop, Best Novice, etc.). If a costume has won before, at least 70% of it must be visibly changed, and proof of modifications are required and must be communicated ahead of time via email. Failure to meet this requirement will result in disqualification.
