Race & The UK Church
Our hope in developing "Unique & United - A Prayer Resource for Racial Justice" is to help Christians act & pray about the issue of racism and the UK church. Since the global outcry against racism in 2020 following the deaths of black US citizens in the hands of white individuals & institutions supposed to protect and serve, many people have been reflecting closer to home. Racial injustice also happens here to those of varying ethnicities. For example since the start of the pandemic, hate crimes against those of Asian heritage has gone up by 300% in the UK, according to the advocacy group End The Virus of Racism.

This survey is made up of 3 sections with multiple choice and open ended questions. Some questions ask for you to share experiences / opinions / what you have witnessed in hopes of anonymously sharing some within the resource. All responses will be anonymous. Please feel free to share as much or as little as you would like. It should take max. 15 minutes to complete and anyone in the UK is welcome to fill it in, regardless of ethnicity.

If you would like to know more about this prayer resource please email uniqueanduniteduk@gmail.com (the address will also be at the very end of this survey). There will be an information and prayer night which the team can send you more information about.

Definitions
There are some keywords we would like to define before you carry on with this survey to help you fill it out the best you can:

Racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalised. In this, racial differences produce an inherent superiority or inferiority of a particular race.

Microaggression: a statement, action, or incident regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group such as a racial or ethnic minority.

Racial Equality: occurs when institutions give equal opportunities to people of all races. In other words, regardless of physical traits such as skin colour, institutions are to give individuals legal, moral, and political equality.

Multicultural: containing several cultural / ethnic groups
I am happy for my experiences to be anonymously shared for the purposes of "Unique & United". *
