Normally this event would be an off-road cross-country race but to aid teams to enter this virtual race you can take part on any surface, just so long as it is safe and within current government covid19 guidelines. It is suggested that runners have an out and back course starting and finishing in the same spot. Parents, guardians or team managers have a responsibility to ensure the route chosen is safe and suitable for their runners.
This team event is for young junior runners only. Competitors must be no younger than age 9 on the day of event (Friday October 16th) and no older than 17 on 1st September 2020.
Race Age Groups & Distance
UNDER 11 & UNDER 13 RACE DISTANCE 2K; UNDER 15 & UNDER 17 RACE DISTANCE 3K.
Each team should consist of three members all male, all female or any mixed combination of the correct age for category entered. To clarify, each team performance will effectively comprise of a series of individual time trials, the legs can be run on different days and at various locations and times. The only requirement is that they are completed during the designated period and be confirmed by electronic method e.g. Strava, Garmin.
Runners can only run a single leg for the team they are entered in, but may run for more than one team within the event, so long as their event timings are recorded at different times/dates. Younger runners can run for an older team e.g. U11 can run in U13 age group team event but an older runner cannot run in a younger team category e.g. U17 in U15 age group entered team.
Younger athletes need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or team manager to ensure safety and validity of distance run and time recording of effort.
Each team will have 3 days to complete the challenge from 9am Friday 16th October till 5pm Sunday 18th October.
An additional form will be provided for submitting results. The closing date for submitting Kesgrave Kruisers results will be 5pm Monday 19th October to allow time for processing and sending to Jaffa.
