The purpose of the Scotty Guinn Dilworth Scholarship fund is to pay forward Scotty's legacy as a conservation landscape designer, career-changer and small business owner to the next generations. This form must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to class start date.

Scholarship Details
This scholarship is a partial scholarship for any CCLC/CBLP course and will cover course fees exceeding $95. One year membership to CCLC will also be included.

Eligibility requirements 

Students seeking to attend any CCLC class or conference, including CBLP training, who are characterized by at least one of the following: 

  • Small business owners with 5 or fewer employees
  • People making a career change into conservation landscaping
  • Women and mothers
  • Students, apprentices or interns of small businesses or nonprofit organizations hired to maintain best practices
  • Individuals with demonstrated financial need to attend


Priority will be given to Virginia residents, but anyone residing within the Chesapeake Bay watershed is eligible

Please write three to four paragraphs describing, your interest in training, how you meet the eligibility requirements and what ways receiving this scholarship will impact you.  *
Requirements for scholarship recipients 
With a goal to encourage more certified pros to complete the program and build an inclusive network of professionals and members and to promote scholarship successes, upon course completion, scholarship recipients will be required to:
  • Write OR photoessay how being a Scotty Scholar assists their conservation landscape work.

  • Recipients participating in CBLP Level 1 or Level 2 must agree to take the final exam/assessment to expand the diverse community of credentialed professionals.

  • Grant permission to use your likeness and quotes in CCLC and CBLP marketing.
