Terrell State Hospital Scholarship
The Volunteer Services Council of Terrell State Hospital is proud to offer a scholarship to a deserving student graduating from high school this year. Each scholarship is awarded based on the decision of the appointed committee, which is final.
The following criteria will be considered in selecting our recipient: 1. two letters of recommendation 2. Transcript with GPA and rank 3. Ability to pass college entrance exam and applied to a college or trade school of your choice 4. Should show evidence of volunteer work at our facility or other facilities 5. Should have evidence of extracurricular activities. Gender, color, race or creed shall not be factors to be considered in any regard.
Payment of monies awarded will be made directly to the recipient's college, or vocational school as credit for tuition and housing costs. If the recipient should fail or cease to regularly attend the school as reasonably anticipated, any unused portion of the monies paid will be returned to the VSC of Terrell State Hospital. Applications will not be taken after March 12, 2020. Interviews will be conducted between March 23-27, 2020. Scholarship recipients will be notified the week of April 20, 2020. Scholarships will be awarded on May 14, 2020 @ Jamie Foxx PAC at 6:00pm.
