The Bethel College Host Family Program pairs students who are far from home with local community members. Whether a student has traveled from across the country or across the world, having someone rooted in the Newton community makes Bethel feel that much more like home. Host families are encouraged to:

Invite their student to their home for a meal or family activity
Attend Bethel College sporting events, performances or campus events in support of their student
Advise their student on local services like grocery shopping, medical services, etc - and possibly offer a ride for those without transportation
Attend Host Family Program gathering events on Bethel's campus

Host Families may offer lodging for their student over holiday or summer breaks, but it is not an expectation of the program. Host Families are asked NOT to:

Loan money to students
Serve alcohol to students (of any age)
Purchase books or cover living expenses for students
Pay any portion of tuition, room or board
Loan the student a car
Fund medical care or benefits
