Commitment to Regular Attendance
Commitment to regular Attendance as well as show up on time.
Show up on time at 3:00 pm or your groups set meeting time. I will notify my leaders when I am unable to attend OR will be late. Please don't notify leaders last minute you will miss, this disrespects their time. If you know you aren't available, please let leader know a day ahead.
Students are also prioritizing other obligations appropriately so they can attend. Examples) Homework, sports, work, being grounded, even family time, etc. Why?
a. We believe there is nothing more important in life than the Gospel and growing to be more like Jesus and glorifying Him.D-Groups is a sacred time to grow as a disciple and we want to protect that time and encourage students to attend. We understand D-Groups are not perfect BUT the very purpose of D-Groups is to be a catalyst for faith growth and there is an appropriate weight given to this endeavor shown through consistent attendance.
b. A lack of consistency limits the ability for faith growth, disrupts the rhythm, bonding and flow for the participant and others in the group. It can also be disheartening to leaders if D-Groups are not taken seriously by lack of consistency.
c. All this being said, we understand unavoidable conflicts - just let your leader know ahead of time, preferably before the day of.
d. We are hoping parents will also help students prioritize D-Group attendance and view it as a priority.
